  • 2 tablespoons cornflour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Press half of the dough into a greased 8×8 inch baking pan and bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Mix pitted cherries with sugar and cornflour, then spread over the crust.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough over the cherry filling and bake for an additional 22 minutes until golden brown.
