- 1/2 cup White Sugar
- 1 stick Unsalted Butter (softened)
- 2 cups Confectioner’s Sugar
- 2 tbsp Milk
- Purple Gel Food Coloring
- Black Decorating Frosting
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pour the egg whites into a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer, adding the cream of tartar.
- Gradually add sugar while increasing speed until semi-stiff peaks form.
- Pipe ghost shapes onto the lined baking sheet and bake for 2 hours. Turn off heat and let cool inside the oven for an additional 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix softened butter, confectioners’ sugar, and milk until smooth. Tint with purple gel food coloring.
- Frost each cupcake generously with purple buttercream and top with the cooled meringue ghosts decorated with black frosting.
