  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer one sheet of phyllo in the dish and brush with melted butter; repeat with six more sheets.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture over the phyllo base.
  5. Add another sheet of phyllo on top, brushing each layer with butter. Score lightly for slicing after baking.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until golden brown and set. Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
  7. Drizzle warmed honey over the pie and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
