  • Fresh thyme and sage
  • 68 cups low sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese

  2. Stir in garlic, mushrooms, thyme, and sage. Season with salt and pepper; cook for another few minutes. Add remaining vinegar, broth, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, and seasonings. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Mix in heavy cream; cook an additional 5-10 minutes. Remove bay leaves and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F. Arrange slices of bread on a baking sheet; toast for 10-15 minutes.
