  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Cube the beef and chop the onion, garlic, and ginger.
  2. In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion until translucent, then add garlic and ginger.
  3. Brown the beef cubes in the pot.
  4. Add curry powder, cumin, turmeric, and cayenne pepper; stir well.
  5. Pour in coconut milk, beef broth, and tomato paste; bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in drained chickpeas and season with salt and pepper; cook for 20-25 minutes until tender.
  7. For naan: mix flour, yogurt, warm water, sugar, and baking powder; knead into dough and cook on a skillet until golden.
