Ingredients

Scale
  • lb Brussels sprouts (trimmed and halved)
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 4 strips turkey bacon (diced into lardons)
  • ½ cup pecans (coarsely chopped)
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • Ground pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Blanch the Brussels sprouts in boiling salted water for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender. Drain and cool.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook diced turkey bacon until crispy, about 7-8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Increase heat to medium-high; sauté the blanched Brussels sprouts and chopped pecans in the rendered turkey bacon fat for about 4-5 minutes until crisp.
  4. Sprinkle ground mustard over the mixture; stir for one minute. Deglaze with apple cider vinegar, scraping browned bits for about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in cooked turkey bacon and maple syrup; toss until everything is well coated and slightly thickened.
